Hop2it Holdings Asia Pacific Focus

From our Australian office we oversee carbon offset projects both in Papua New Guines and Asia Pacific. By preventing the clearing of native vegetation and the felling of trees for lumber which enhances carbon abatement, we provide onsite project management as a Proponent to local tribal landowners and we manage and generate new income for them from plantations and importantly from the harvesting of regional Carbon Credit Units.

Our Hop2it Subsidaries

Hop2it Holdings Pte Ltd (HH) in Singapore, is a wholly owned subsidary of MainStreet Renewables Pty Ltd (MSR), in turn, has two trading company subsidaries in Australia and Papua New Guinea which act as Proponents to Landowners and manage regional Carbon Credit Projects.

Carbon Credit Price

The carbon price is expected to average around US$42 per metric tonne in 2024 and US$46 per ton in 2025, according to Bloomberg NEF. That’s up from US$34 per tonne in 2023, supported by financial intermediaries. It could reach as high as US$93 per tonne by the end of the decade (2030) when it is targeted to drive industry and SMEs to carbon emmision compliance and then neutrality by 2050 if possible.

Our Carbon Methodologies

The emerging market for carbon credits has two main forms. First, there is the Voluntary Market, which is smaller than the compliance market but expected to grow in the coming years. This market is open to businesses, governments, and individuals. It allows consumers to buy Carbon Credits Units to offset their carbon footprint for a particular activity or on a regular basis.

Carbon projects can be Community-based or Industrial-based. Community-based projects typically involve local groups and are more difficult to certify than industrial-scale projects. These projects also tend to have greater co-benefits, and many contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, community-based projects may trade at a premium compared to industrial-scale projects. Industrial projects, on the other hand, produce large volumes of credits and are easier to verify.

Australian ACCUs

Carbon Farming is simply farming in a way that reduces Greenhouse Gas emissions or captures and holds carbon in vegetation and soils. Hop2it provides consultancy to Landowners in Australia to setup and commence Carbon Farming to create a diverse new income.

Deforestation Avoidance

Hop2it works with Landowners in PNG to promote agricultural planning and production that avoids tree-clearing, advocating stronger biodiversity to protect forest and rural habitat. In parallel we campaign for a halt to deforestation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Rural Afforestation Programs

A reforestation and afforestation project involves planting trees in agricultural areas. In doing so, the project helps to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas entering the atmosphere, as carbon stock remains stored in the trees while they grow.

Reforestation by Plantation

Afforestation is the establishment of a new forest on an infertile or degraded land where there is no forestation occuring. Reforestation is a type of forestation where the main aim is to plant more and more trees in an area that was once a forest.
